Job summary

AES Clean Energy is seeking a NERC Operations Team Leader to serve as SME on NERC standards, guiding interpretation and compliance across all O&M activities for a growing renewable asset portfolio.

The role coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs, leading a team of NERC SME professionals to ensure reliable, compliant operations and continuous improvement in NERC practices across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years in electric power industry with focus on operations, maintenance, or NERC compliance (8+ years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of NERC standards such as PRC-005, FAC-008, EOP-012, PRC-004, PRC-028, PRC-029, PRC-030.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day NERC compliance at all AES Clean Energy sites.
• Translate NERC requirements into executable processes and audit-ready evidence.
• Lead audits, self-certifications, and investigations with NERC Compliance teams.
• Assess reliability risks and develop internal controls for NERC standards.
• Train and implement procedures across operations to ensure compliance.
• Lead and mentor the NERC Operations team and drive continuous improvement.
