Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in hospital settings after birth. On-site at multiple hospital locations, you will screen newborns for hearing loss and educate families on the importance of early intervention.

The role includes following hospital policies, maintaining data accuracy, and coordinating results with the care team. On-the-job training leading to American Academy of Audiology certification is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens at hospital after birth.
• Ensure data collection and demographic data for each baby; perform screening and related services.
• Provide education to parents on the relevance of screening and early intervention.
• Upload screen results and billing/state reporting by end of each shift; reconcile statistics as instructed.
• Follow PPE, vaccinations, orientations, and compliance modules; raise questions to HS Manager as needed.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
