Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns, ensuring accuracy of data and adherence to safety protocols.

The role includes educating families about the importance of early hearing intervention and coordinating with hospital staff to streamline screening processes. On-the-job training and annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or obtain on offer.
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Educate parents on the importance of hearing screens and early intervention.
• Ensure proper data/demographics collection and documentation for each baby.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of shift; maintain accurate stats.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety while screening; follow PPE and safety protocols.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred babies and schedule outpatient follow-ups when needed.
