Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in hospital nurseries and educate parents on screening importance.

On-the-job training with annual American Academy of Audiology certification is provided, helping ensure early detection of hearing issues and timely intervention. The role involves on-site work, weekend shifts, and a commitment to patient care and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required

Responsibilities

• Screen newborns for hearing loss in hospital settings and provide education to parents about the relevance of screening.
• Evaluate patient for screen readiness to ensure reliable results.
• Collect all data/demographics and document results for every screen.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies and schedule outpatient appointments when needed.
• Perform screens efficiently while maintaining quality and patient education.
• Follow safety protocols, PPE, and hospital orientations.
