Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Concrete Superintendent to lead field operations on power, renewable energy, transmission, and substation projects across the United States. You will safely plan, coordinate, and oversee all concrete construction activities, develop field leaders, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of structural concrete construction experience in utility-scale or heavy civil projects
• Minimum 5 years leading structural concrete construction as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent
• Extensive knowledge of flatwork, footings, pedestals, foundations, reinforcing steel, formwork, embedded items, concrete placement and quality control
• Strong ability to read and interpret project drawings, specifications and schedules
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work extended hours as project schedules require
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Proven leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations for utility-scale concrete foundation projects
• Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and schedules
• Supervise Foremen and field crews to ensure safety and productivity
• Oversee reinforcement, formwork, anchor bolts, embedded items, concrete placement, finishing and curing
• Ensure work meets project specs, quality standards and schedule
• Read drawings and coordinate daily activities with Project Managers, customers, inspectors and suppliers
• Maintain project documentation, daily reports and quality records
• Coach and develop Foremen and future Superintendents
• Promote safety, accountability and continuous improvement at the jobsite
