Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on nationwide projects across the United States. You will manage earthwork, grading, excavation, and site development while prioritizing safety and quality.

The role requires 10+ years in heavy civil, 5+ years leading teams, and frequent travel. You will coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors and mentor site leaders to deliver on schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of heavy civil construction experience
• Minimum 5 years leading heavy civil operations as a Superintendent
• Experience with mass grading, earthwork, drainage, and site development
• Ability to read grading plans, civil drawings, GPS models, and construction documents

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for utility-scale heavy civil construction projects
• Plan and coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, materials, subcontractors, and schedules
• Supervise Foremen, operators, and field teams to ensure safety and productivity
• Oversee grading, excavation, drainage systems, and civil infrastructure installation
• Ensure work meets project specs, quality standards, and production goals
• Maintain daily reports, production tracking, and quality records
• Coach and develop Foremen and future Superintendents
