Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to assist Project Managers on-site, ensuring work meets plans and specifications. You will review shop drawings, track progress, and support project reporting.

This role may require relocation to project sites nationwide. A Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field and 1+ year of contractor internship are preferred. Strong communication, blueprint reading, and safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor or internship preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Managers to ensure work installed meets plans and specifications.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintains project schedules and progress reports.
• Coordinates meetings and distributes minutes to stakeholders.
• Supports bidding and scope development for trade contractors.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures.
