Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Project Engineer to support Project Managers and ensure work installed on the project meets plan and specification requirements. This is an on-site role requiring relocation to project locations nationwide.

The posted location may not reflect the assigned project site. The Project Engineer assists in bidding, develops scope of work for subs, prepares weekly progress reports, and coordinates with the superintendent to keep schedules on track while upholding safety and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor, or internship.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project plans and shop drawings for accuracy and alignment with specs.
• Publishes weekly progress reports and tracks information for construction.
• Updates project schedules and milestones as needed.
• Assists in bidding and in developing scope of work for trade contractors.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies on site.
