Job summary

Cogent Communications is seeking a sales professional for an in-office role in the United States. The position emphasizes hunting for new business, prospecting, and qualifying opportunities with key decision makers in a regional territory.

You will leverage consultative selling, build relationships, and position Cogent’s high-speed internet and network services to achieve revenue goals in large commercial settings. A college degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience required.
• You must be able to identify, qualify and generate new business.
• Strong oral and written communication is required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
• Working knowledge of computer applications and a CRM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory focused on Mid Market and large accounts.
• Direct calling, email and other contact efforts to identify, qualify, and generate opportunities with Key Decision Makers
• Support prospecting with field activities such as building walks, lobby events and meetings
• Leverage consultative selling to identify connectivity solutions
• Help Cogent customers by positioning services for new business
• Achieve monthly revenue goals by selling into large commercial buildings and campuses
