Job summary

BB&E, an employee-owned civil and environmental engineering firm, seeks a Hazardous Waste Coordinator for NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role covers cradle-to-grave waste management, labeling, pickup, and data tracking across multiple waste streams in compliance with CFR Parts 61, 260-279, and 761.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hazardous waste experience, Houston familiarity, and knowledge of NASA or federal agencies.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years experience as a Hazardous Waste Coordinator is required.
• Experience in Houston is required.
• Experience with NASA or a federal agency is highly desirable.
• Experience tracking data in Excel and managing various streams of waste is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement a comprehensive hazardous waste program for regulated waste streams.
• Perform self-lab-pack operations, waste profile approvals, and coordinate off-site shipments.
• Assess environmental liability on properties and manage waste-related plans and inspections.
• Prepare permits, maintain waste records, and support contingency planning.
• Conduct sampling, inspections, and training related to hazardous waste management.
