Job summary

BB&E is seeking a dynamic Hazardous Waste Technician for the NASA Langley Research Center in Houston, TX. You will collect lab and medical waste, segregate by hazard class, and prepare waste for shipment, ensuring compliance with regulations. You will support generators, maintain documentation, and coordinate cradle-to-grave waste handling on site.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, U.S. citizenship, and 24-hour HAZWOPER training with RCRA and DOT certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in hazardous waste management.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check.
• 24-hour HAZWOPER training and RCRA Haz Waste Management certification.
• DOT HazMat Shipping and Storage certification.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collect hazardous waste from R&D labs and medical waste.
• Segregate by hazard class and bulk solvents for disposal.
• Lab-pack hazardous and medical waste; manage cradle-to-grave waste paperwork.
• Coordinate on-site transport, sampling, packaging, and manifests.
• Provide guidance on labeling, storage, and regulatory compliance.
