BB&E seeks a Hazardous Waste Technician for NASA Langley Research Center in Houston, TX. You will manage R&D lab waste, medical waste, and hazardous waste according to regulations, and support labeling, storage, and cradle-to-grave tracking at the Johnson Space Center site.

The role requires OSHA and federal Hazardous Waste compliance knowledge, ability to handle heavy drums, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure safe disposal and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Experience with hazardous waste turn-in, shipping, and tracking documents.
• Lab pack disposal experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HW management and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with OSHA and federal/state HW regulations.
• Ability to move and load heavy drums safely.

Responsabilités

• Collect hazardous waste from R&D labs and medical facilities.
• Segregate and process waste by hazard class.
• Bulk solvents for drums and non-RCRA liquids.
• Lab pack hazardous and medical waste.
• Perform waste pick-ups, on-site transport, sampling, classification, packaging, and cradle-to-grave tracking.
• Provide guidance on labeling, storage, and management of hazardous waste.
• Coordinate hazardous and mixed waste pickups within 3 business days after Form A completion.
• Prepare and ship waste samples to state-certified labs.
