Job summary

Unchained Labs is seeking a Manager of the Field Applications Scientist to lead a high-octane field team in North America. The role combines technical leadership, pre-sales demonstrations, and direct customer engagement to accelerate product adoption and scientific impact.

Ideal candidates hold an MS (PhD preferred) in Biochemistry or related fields, with 3–4+ years in FAS roles or 1–2 years in leadership within biotech. Travel up to 50% and Bay Area or Boston location are preferred.

Qualifications

• Collaborative mindset with colleagues and senior management.
• 3-4+ years as a FAS/Sr. FAS or 1-2 years in a technical leadership role in biotech.
• Experience designing biological assays and solving complex scientific problems.
• Experience working with protein stability applications.
• Experience teaching or training.
• Able to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to travel up to 50% overnight
• Location in US; Bay Area, CA or Boston preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of innovative solutions to customer challenges.
• Motivate the team and focus on innovation and growth.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external partners.
• Provide detailed technical feedback to product teams on customer needs.
• Conduct pre-sales technical presentations and seminars.
• Plan and demonstrate instrument demonstrations.
• Maintain expert knowledge of Unchained Labs product line.
• Provide post-sales account development support.
