Job summary

Unchained Labs is seeking a Field Application Scientist for the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region. This role focuses on pre-sales technical demonstrations, customer training, and instrument demonstrations to support scientific outcomes for researchers.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in biochemistry or biophysics, plus hands-on experience with protein stability assays and analytical instruments. Willingness to travel up to 70% and lift 40 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Biochemistry or related field; PhD preferred.
• 5+ years in customer support or related biotech roles.
• Experience with protein stability applications and formulations screening.
• Experience with viral vectors and/or lipid nanoparticles is a plus.
• Working knowledge of biophysical techniques (e.g., Fluorescence, UV-Vis, DSC, DLS, SLS, ITC, DSF).
• Demonstrated experience designing biological assays and solving complex scientific problems.
• Experience teaching or training.
• Able to lift 40 pounds.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% overnight across Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and East Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support the Unchained Labs Analytics team.
• Conduct pre-sales technical presentations and seminars.
• Plan and execute demonstrations of Unchained Labs analytical instruments.
• Install, QC instruments and train customers, new hires and distributors.
• Provide front-line technical support and work with escalation teams.
• Keep CRM up to date with customer notes and issues.
• Maintain positive customer relations.
• Assist with localization of marketing materials.

Responsibilities

• Support the Unchained Labs Analytics
• Conduct pre-sales technical presentations and seminars
• Plan and execute demonstrations of Unchained Labs analytical instruments
• Maintain an expert-level knowledge of the Unchained Labs product line
• Install, QC instruments, and train new customers, new hires and distributors
• Provide front-line technical support and work with internal escalation teams as needed
• Keep CRM system up to date with customer notes and issues
• Maintain positive customer relations
• Help Marketing department with localization of marketing activities and materials
• Willingness to work with and support the team located across the U.S. or other regions.
• Assist with maintenance of the Boston lab

Qualifications

• MS degree in Biochemistry, Biophysical sciences or a related scientific field, PhD preferred.
• 5+ years in customer support, FAS, or related biotech industry roles preferred
• Experience working with protein stability applications, formulations screening, biologics.
• Experience working with viral vectors and/or lipid nanoparticles is a plus.
• Working Knowledge of laboratory techniques and fundamentals of biophysical techniques (ex. Fluorescence, UV-Vis, DSC, DLS, SLS, ITC, DSF, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience designing biological assays and solving complex scientific problems
• Experience teaching or training
• Able to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to travel up to 70% overnight when required through, but not limited to Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Mid-west territories and East Canada.
