Job summary

The Rapid Group, Paterson, NJ, seeks a Municipal Outside Sales Representative to grow our water and wastewater business across Northern New Jersey. You will develop new municipal accounts, strengthen existing relationships, and promote repair, maintenance, and installation solutions.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in municipal or industrial sales, knowledge of pumps and electrical components, and a track record of meeting revenue targets while traveling within the region.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of outside sales or business development experience in municipal or industrial sectors.
• Experience selling to municipalities or public works departments is preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel regularly within Northern New Jersey and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with municipal decision-makers.
• Identify and pursue new municipal sales opportunities in Northern New Jersey.
• Promote pump and motor repair, maintenance, emergency services, and installation solutions.
• Visit municipal water and wastewater facilities for account development.
• Collaborate with operations, estimating, and engineering to craft proposals.
• Participate in municipal bid processes, RFQs, RFPs, and negotiations.
• Build a robust sales pipeline and meet revenue targets.
