Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative to provide front-desk support across OB/GYN, Multispecialty and Primary Care locations. You will welcome patients, manage check-in/out, schedule appointments, verify insurance, collect copays, and update demographics.

You will work closely with clinicians and clinic staff in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to cover various hours, and potential overtime; strong customer service and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.
• Ability to work across multiple systems during calls.
• Excellent customer service and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work in an interactive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-desk support across OB/GYN, Multispecialty, and Primary Care.
• Welcome and assist patients; manage check-in and check-out.
• Schedule appointments at clinic and other locations; verify insurance and authorizations.
• Update demographic information; collect copayments.
• Audit billing documents; document dispositions; manage petty cash drawer.
