Job summary

MDS Staffing is assisting a century-old Nashville-based general contractor in identifying a Project Manager (or Assistant PM) for multifamily and commercial projects. This long-term role offers strong compensation, growth opportunities, and a fun, professional environment.

Responsibilities include initiating construction from design through buyout, coordinating with site management, and building vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related discipline preferred.
• 6+ years experience in Project Management with a General Contractor / Construction Management firm but experienced with the GC side.
• Local subcontractor & vendor relationships in the greater TN / Southeast markets.

Responsibilities

• Initiate the construction process from design & land acquisition through buyout, scheduling to c/o.
• Coordinate with the Site Management Staff for seamless construction operations and help overcome challenges.
• Encourage new sub/vendor relationships in the area and maintain existing trade-partner relationships.
• Direct all facets of each project from pre-con and initial construction efforts to close-out; ensure safety, design, budget, and schedule compliance.
• Work with all staff, owners and management to complete projects from Trees-to-Keys within allocated schedules.
• Manage 1-2 projects simultaneously pertaining to mid-rise apartment complex construction (garden-style & podium).
