Job summary

GAF in Newton, KS is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform advanced multicraft maintenance on a high-volume production line, under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, welding, alignment, reading blueprints, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and safety. This role requires collaboration across departments and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years industrial or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing operation preferred.
• Familiarity with PLC systems and process control ladder logic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide general maintenance support and PMs of equipment.
• Read instructions, blueprints and manuals and use meters and tools.
• Perform millwright work such as aligning pumps and motors and installing belts.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical power transmission, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform welding including MIG and rod welding; work on pipe systems.
