Job summary
GAF in Newton, Kansas seeks a Maintenance Technician I to safely perform a wide range of advanced multicraft tasks under supervision. You will troubleshoot machine drives, conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance, fabricate and weld as needed, and ensure equipment uptime in a high-volume production environment.

Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years industrial or mechanical maintenance experience.
- 3 years industrial maintenance in high-volume manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read instructions, blueprints and manuals and use meters/tools.
- Experience with millwright tasks (pumps, belts, alignment).
- Familiarity with PLC systems and VFDs.
Responsibilities
- Provide general maintenance support and PMs of equipment in the Plant.
- Complete work orders and document work in Maximo.
- Read instructions, blueprints and manuals; use meters and tools.
- Perform millwright tasks: align pumps, belts and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Weld: MIG and rod; work on pipes and fittings.
- Read PLCs and troubleshoot VFDs.
- Provide safety-focused maintenance and support production.
