Job summary

GAF is hiring a Maintenance Technician I for our Newton, Kansas plant. You will perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance tasks in a high-volume production setting, troubleshooting from blueprints and schematics and ensuring equipment uptime with a safety-focused mindset.

The role requires a HS Diploma or GED and 3+ years of maintenance experience; welding, mechanical skills, and PLC familiarity are a plus. Travel may be limited, with strong teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years industrial or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read instructions, blueprints and manuals.
• Familiarity with PLC systems and VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and PMs on plant equipment.
• Read blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot drives and conveyors.
• Engage in safety, quality and cost-focused maintenance work.
