Arete Associates in Northridge, CA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support the Senior Payroll Administrator in accurate, timely payroll processing for 460+ employees across 13+ states. You will handle deductions, tax withholdings, benefits, and year-end activities, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience, a bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field, and familiarity with multi-state payroll.

Qualificações

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Process weekly timesheets and labor transactions ensuring timekeeping aligns with FAR requirements.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple states.
• Handle payroll transactions for new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, and changes in status or compensation.
• Process deductions including taxes, 401(k) contributions, loans, and benefits.
• Support year-end payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting, and adjustments.
• Provide backup support to maintain continuity during absences and peak periods.
