Job summary

Areté is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Northridge, CA to support payroll for 460+ employees across 13+ states. You will process weekly timesheets, employee transactions, deductions, and compliance reporting while maintaining confidential payroll records.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience, multi-state payroll familiarity, and proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and Deltek Costpoint. This role offers an on-site environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll environments preferred.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Deltek Costpoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly timesheets and labor transactions ensuring timekeeping compliance with FAR and company policy.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple states.
• Handle new hires, terminations, leaves, and compensation changes in payroll records.
• Process deductions (taxes, 401(k), loans, benefits, garnishments) and run related reconciliations.
• Assist with 401(k) remittances, year-end processing, reporting, and audits.
• Provide backup support for payroll processing and cross-training documentation.
