Job summary

Meritum Energy is seeking an HR Generalist - Leave & Accommodations to administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, and benefits across our multi-state operations. You will serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers, handling leave requests with empathy and compliance.

The role collaborates with payroll, safety, and HR leadership to manage exemptions, return-to-work, and benefit questions, ensuring timely, confidential case handling and accurate records in the HRIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Management, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Hands-on experience administering employee leaves of absence and FMLA.
• Working knowledge of ADA reasonable accommodations and the interactive process.
• Experience administering employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k)).
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the employee leave process from notification through return to work, including FMLA, medical, personal, parental, and other leaves.
• Determine eligibility for FMLA and other leave programs and provide notices and certifications.
• Track FMLA usage and maintain leave balances and documentation.
• Coordinate ADA accommodations and manage the interactive process.
• Coordinate return-to-work processes and work restrictions with management and Safety.
• Provide guidance on attendance, performance concerns, policy violations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment and annual open enrollment with our broker.
• Maintain confidential medical and leave records and HRIS data.
