Our client, a leading beauty retailer, is seeking an HR Generalist to support their leave programs and serve as a trusted resource to employees, managers, HR Business Partners, Payroll, and external partners.
Please note that this is a temporary position running from 10/26/2026 through 01/29/2027 with the possibility of becoming full time.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end administration of leaves of absence, including FMLA, short- and long-term disability, military, personal, parental, and other company-sponsored leave programs.
- Guide employees and managers through leave options, eligibility requirements, documentation, timelines, and return-to-work requirements.
- Serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers regarding leave processes and requirements.
- Coordinate with HR, Payroll, managers, employees, and the third-party leave administrator to ensure timely and accurate administration.
- Serve as the primary liaison among employees, managers, HR Business Partners, Payroll, and the third-party leave administrator.
- Review workplace accommodation requests and partner with appropriate stakeholders to identify reasonable accommodation options in accordance with the ADA, applicable laws, and company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when managing sensitive employee information and complex situations.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and the employee experience.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen leave administration processes, policies, and overall program effectiveness.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related direct experience in leave administration.
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, benefits, or leave administration.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, short- and long-term disability, and state leave requirements.
- Understanding of ADA workplace accommodation requirements.
- Experience with HRIS/HCM and third-party leave administration platforms.
- Strong attention to detail in record maintenance and case management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong judgment and empathy when working with employees and managers.
