Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is hiring an Area Manager to oversee janitorial operations across multiple customer locations in the Indianapolis area. You will lead teams, manage staffing, assure quality, and build strong customer relationships to ensure consistent service.

This hands-on leadership role involves visiting sites, solving problems, and maintaining service standards while controlling labor budgets and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
• Business level oral and written English.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent customer service and active listening.
• Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; negotiate and resolve conflict.

Responsibilities

• Oversee janitorial operations and employees across multiple locations.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and develop janitorial team members.
• Visit assigned customer sites regularly to ensure service and quality standards.
• Build relationships with customers and quickly resolve service concerns.
• Manage employee schedules and staffing while maintaining labor budgets.
• Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure site visits are completed.
• Lead new-hire orientation, safety training and ongoing job training.
• Review employee performance and create development or improvement plans.
• Identify opportunities for additional services within assigned accounts.
• Maintain required operational documentation, including time sheets, training records, work orders and supply/equipment order.
