Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking an Area Manager to oversee cleaning operations across multiple customer locations in the Indianapolis area, including Bloomington. You will lead and support janitorial teams, manage staffing and scheduling, and uphold quality standards while building strong customer relationships.

This hands-on leadership role requires you to visit sites, resolve issues, and ensure consistent service across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of management experience in a service-related industry.
• Business level English fluency.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent customer service and listening skills.
• Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee janitorial operations across multiple customer locations.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and develop janitorial team members.
• Visit assigned customer sites regularly to ensure service and quality standards.
• Build relationships with customers and quickly resolve service concerns.
• Manage employee schedules and staffing while maintaining labor budgets.
• Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure required site visits are completed.
• Lead new-hire orientation, safety training and ongoing job training.
• Review employee performance and create development or improvement plans as needed.
• Identify opportunities for additional services within assigned customer accounts.
• Maintain required operational documentation, including time sheets, training records, work orders and supply/equipment order.
