Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitorial Area Manager to oversee cleaning operations across multiple customer locations in the Indianapolis area. This role leads and supports janitorial teams, manages staffing and scheduling, maintains quality standards, and builds strong relationships with customers to ensure exceptional service.

This is a hands-on operations leadership position requiring team management, site visits, problem solving, and consistent service across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
• Business English proficiency in reading/writing.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent customer service and active listening skills.
• Ability to lead and encourage teamwork and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee janitorial operations and employees across multiple customer locations.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and develop janitorial team members.
• Visit assigned customer sites regularly to ensure service and quality standards.
• Build relationships with customers and resolve service concerns.
• Manage employee schedules and staffing within labor budgets.
• Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure required site visits.
• Lead new-hire orientation, safety training and ongoing job training.
• Review employee performance and create development plans.
• Identify opportunities for additional services within accounts.
• Maintain operational documentation including time sheets, training records, and work orders.
