Job summary

Stop & Shop in Hartford, CT is seeking a highly motivated Non-Perishable Manager to oversee the daily operations of Grocery, General Merchandise, Health & Beauty Care, Frozen, and Dairy departments. You will ensure departments meet or exceed sales and profit targets while upholding sanitation, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will lead training and development for non-perishable team members, foster a diverse, inclusive culture, manage labor relations and drive customer service excellence

Qualifications

• 1-3 years supervisory or leadership experience in retail grocery
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field preferred or equivalent years of work experience
• Highly motivated, results-oriented, self-starter with proven track record
• Strong ability to influence and communicate across functions
• Excellent multitasking and prioritization capabilities
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills to guide teams to goals
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with customers, team members and stakeholders
• High level of customer service skills and passion for exceeding expectations
• Creative and strategic thinking to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of Grocery, General Merchandise, Health & Beauty Care, Frozen, and Dairy departments
• Ensure departments meet or exceed sales and profit targets
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Direct, oversee, and evaluate training of non-perishable department team members
• Monitor and evaluate associate performance and development plans
• Foster diversity and inclusion within the team
• Manage labor relations to ensure policy and law compliance
• Address and resolve employee issues and grievances promptly
• Cultivate excellence in customer service and well-stocked store offerings
• Coach and provide feedback to improve operations and reduce costs
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock management
• Conduct regular safety audits and trainings
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
