Job summary

Stop & Shop in Bristol, CT seeks a highly motivated Perishable Manager to oversee Meat, Seafood, Deli, Florist, Produce and Bake Shop operations. Lead department teams, ensure profitability, and maintain high sanitation standards while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires 1–3 years of supervisory experience in retail grocery, a related degree or equivalent experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. Flexibility for weekends and holidays is needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in retail grocery.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent years of work experience.
• Strong ability to influence and communicate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Meat, Seafood, Deli, Florist, Produce, and Bake Shop.
• Ensure departments meet or exceed sales and profit targets.
• Maintain sanitation and safety, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Direct, oversee, and evaluate training of perishable department team members
• Monitor performance and develop improvement plans for staff
• Foster diversity and inclusion within the team
• Manage labor relations and address employee issues promptly
• Provide best-in-class customer service and ensure well-stocked, fresh products
• Coach on operational efficiency and control labor costs
• Monitor inventory and ensure accurate stock management
• Conduct safety audits and maintain a clean, safe workplace
