Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer in Frederick, MD to help customers obtain FHA/VA and conventional loans that meet their financial needs. You will interview applicants, assess creditworthiness, and advise on mortgage options while promoting the bank's products in the local market.

The role requires strong sales ability, excellent communication, and the ability to travel to meet clients and build relationships with real estate professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates degree with 2 years sales experience, or 4 years combined higher education and/or relevant work experience including 2 years sales.
• Thorough knowledge of FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements and real estate law.
• Proven sales ability and ability to interact with customers at all income levels.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to collect income, assets, debts and credit data.
• Assess credit worthiness and issue pre-qualification statements.
• Recommend mortgage loan products best fitting customer needs.
• Market and promote mortgage products to real estate professionals and community.
• Travel to meet customers at homes or business locations when needed.
• Ensure compliance with origination procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the bank in the community and participate in seminars and outreach.
