Job summary

Truity Credit Union seeks a Mortgage Loan Specialist to assist members with mortgage products and to proactively solicit business from realtors, relocation specialists, and community partners.

You will collaborate with senior sales leadership to identify trends, enhance products, and improve processes, while ensuring compliance and timely processing of mortgage applications from development activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Mortgage Lending functions including policies, practices, and standards
• Modern office equipment
• Credit Union operations, procedures, products, services, philosophies, practices, and systems
• Technology and various software programs
• Read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form
• Organize and prioritize in order to meet deadlines
• Write reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before members and employees.
• Solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations
• Self direct with the initiative and drive necessary to activate a project from conception through completion
• Solicit business that results in increased volumes

Responsibilities

• Actively listen and respond to member inquiries, suggestions, requests, and concerns.
• Recommend mortgage loan products to members and take applications.
• Proactively elevate mortgage business volume in the market by building rapport with key community leaders and real estate professionals; by employing systems for follow-up and process management; and by serving members in a manner that prompts them to promote and repeat business.
• Aggressively increase the volume by building rapport with key corporate and real estate professionals; by employing systems for follow-up and process management; and by serving members in a manner that prompts them to promote and repeat business.
• Successfully register with NMLS annually.
• Successfully complete all applicable compliance training and testing.
• Work with VP, Mortgage Sales & Development and Assistant Manager, Sales and Development to identify trends, product enhancements and process improvements in order to capture a greater share of the business.
• Work with departmental personnel to ensure mortgage applications generated through business development activities are processed and closed effectively.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
