Job summary

BD is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance, repair, and improvement projects on department injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes safety, GMP compliance, and effective communication across teams at our USA facility.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot electrical/mechanical/pneumatic systems, and support engineering with equipment IQs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in Mechatronics preferred, or two years of technical experience in lieu of degree.
• Two years molding experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of hydraulic, electric, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; maintain records; communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvements on molding presses and auxiliary equipment per safety and GMP procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair injection molding presses and related equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory and support engineering projects for new equipment IQs.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and costs.
• Train operators and assist with machine setup and operation.
• Test circuits and modify control panels; collaborate with Controls for PLC updates.
