Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Technical Product Manager in Offsite Manufacturing, based in Seattle, WA, to drive modular products through full lifecycle—from concept to production launch. You will bridge engineering, manufacturing operations, and program management to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with customer and business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering (master's preferred).
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is preferred.
• Understanding of building codes, AHJ, and product listings preferred.
• 8–10 years total work experience in a technical or engineering field.
• 2–5 years in product development, program management, or manufacturing engineering in modular/prefabricated products.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to bridge technical and commercial teams.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle: concept, design validation, prototyping, testing, and production launch.
• Apply DFMA/DFx principles to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and efficiency of new products.
• Collaborate to refine and optimize product designs for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA).
• Direct prototype builds, conduct first-article inspections, and iterate design from test feedback.
• Partner with modeling/drawing teams to refine 3D models, drawings, and shop packages.
• Make recommendations for software purchases and in-house design tools to improve efficiency.
• Track industry trends to maintain the company’s technology leadership.
