Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Construction Project Manager for our Offsite Manufacturing team in Austin, TX. The role owns end-to-end performance of a defined modular product value stream, coordinating across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and commercial teams to meet cost, quality, schedule, and contractual targets.

The ideal candidate has a related degree and substantial PM/engineering experience, with expertise in modular construction, scheduling software, and financial management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent professional experience required.
• 6 years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction preferred.
• Experience working for a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred.
• Prior experience in modular, prefabricated, or offsite manufacturing construction environments is a plus.
• Proficient with project scheduling software preferred.
• Completed OSHA 30 class is required.
• Basic estimating skills preferred.
• Demonstrates an understanding of accounting and financial management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition of project management and engineering activities from design through construction.
• Develop, manage, and maintain project plans, submittals, schedules, scopes of work, and execution strategies for manufactured projects.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks proactively throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for client relationships, driving alignment and satisfaction.
• Prepare and manage client and subcontractor change orders.
• Monitor, control, and report on project financial performance, including cost, margin, and forecasted outcomes.
• Lead coordination among trades, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams to support successful execution.
• Coach, mentor, and provide direction to project team members.
