Job summary

McKinstry in Austin, TX is seeking a Construction Project Manager to own end-to-end performance of a modular project value stream. You will manage plans, schedules, scopes, and execution with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, and commercial groups.

The role emphasizes cost, quality, schedule, and contractual outcomes, while driving client alignment and change management. A collaborative, problem-solving mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 6 years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction is preferred.
• Experience working for a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred.
• Prior modular, prefabricated, or offsite manufacturing construction experience is a plus.
• Completed OSHA 30 class is required.
• Basic estimating skills preferred.
• Demonstrates understanding of accounting and financial management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition of project management and engineering activities from design through construction.
• Develop, manage, and maintain project plans, submittals, schedules, scopes of work, and execution strategies for a manufactured project across many construction projects.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks proactively throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for client relationships, driving alignment and satisfaction throughout the project.
• Prepare and manage client and subcontractor change orders.
• Monitor, control, and report on project financial performance, including cost, margin, and forecasted outcomes.
• Lead coordination among trades, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams to support successful execution.
• Coach, mentor, and provide direction to project team members.
