Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites. You will document vehicle condition, estimate repair costs, and share findings with clients in clear terms.

The role requires hands-on automotive knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors. You will travel to locations to conduct inspections and build relationships with dealers.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Problem solving aptitude and resourcefulness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communicator and ability to understand customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products.
• Interface regularly with dealers to develop client satisfaction and build relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• Take multiple photos and attach them to a vehicle record in the image server.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
