Job summary

ACV Auctions seeks an enthusiastic Inspector to join our growing team. Inspectors are the face of ACV, using automotive knowledge to explain vehicle conditions to clients and ensure accurate reports.

Expect travel to dealerships and off-lease locations, with meticulous attention to detail and strong customer service. Responsibilities include inspections, condition reporting, supporting sales with cross-sell opportunities, and building solid dealer relationships.

Qualifications

• 1 year of automotive field experience with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team.
• Excellent communicator with ability to understand customer needs.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required.
• Knowledge of systems and relevant software/web-based applications.
• Ability to perform manual labor (standing, lifting 25 lbs+, bending, squatting).
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Good vision to identify small defects on and under vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease with Territory Manager and Inspectors to detect damage and issues.
• Prepare and submit reports of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Assist sales team with cross-selling services and products.
• Interact with dealers to ensure client satisfaction and build relationships.
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports and list vehicles for auction.
• Capture photos and upload to the image server using company-provided devices.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding/purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to use the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
