Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector who knows cars and wants to join a growing company. Inspectors are the face of ACV, explaining findings to clients with clarity and energy, delivering trust and transparency every day.

You will inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites, prepare condition reports, and support the sales team with follow-up opportunities. This role requires field work, strong communication, and a drive to deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while in a team environment.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.
• Knowledge of system capabilities, knowledge of needed/job-relevant software packages, and web-based applications.
• Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to or more than 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.
• Ability to drive a manual & automatic transmission.
• Vision abilities required to properly identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage and problems.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition and repair estimates.
• Assist sales with up-sell or cross-sell opportunities.
• Interface with dealers to build relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect vehicles and write condition reports.
• Capture and upload vehicle photos to the company image server.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles for bidding on ACV Auctions.
• Register independent dealerships as buyers to use the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
