Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our growing team. You will inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites, document conditions, and prepare cost estimates for repairs or replacements.

Build strong relationships with dealers and support the sales team in upselling services. Ideal candidates have 1 year in the automobile field with customer service, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while in a team environment.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.
• Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to or more than 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Partnering with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors, conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage, missing parts and mechanical problems.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products.
• Interface regularly with our dealers to develop and ensure client satisfaction and build strong relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect, and write condition reports, list vehicles to sell on the auction platform.
• Take multiple, overall, and damage photos match them to a vehicle, and download them to the image server utilizing the company issued smart phone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles utilizing ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize ACV Auctions digital platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
