Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician II - DOT for an on-site role with 100% travel across customer sites. The technician performs certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trailers and equipment, including brakes, air lines, and electrical systems, working mainly in the evenings.

The role requires HS diploma or GED, DOT and FMCSA familiarity, and the ability to document work using an iOS device and TRAIT application.

Qualifications

• Certified DOT inspections and preventive maintenance knowledge.
• Experience performing trailer repairs and light mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Document work in Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Diagnose and repair trailer systems including brakes, air lines, pumps, engines, liftgates, and electrical components.
• Maintain safety and compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company policies.
• Coordinate parts and communicate with customers and management to procure estimates and approvals.
