Job summary

West Coast Wound & Skin Care seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver in-home physical therapy across the Dallas, TX region. You will work under a supervising Physical Therapist, implement plans of care, monitor progress, and educate patients and caregivers to enhance mobility and independence.

The role requires independent execution within PTA scope, strong communication, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, therapeutic exercise, and rehabilitation principles
• Strong understanding of physical therapy treatment techniques and functional mobility principles
• Ability to safely and effectively implement a Physical Therapist's established plan of care
• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance training, functional mobility, neuromuscular re-education, strengthening, transfer training, and fall prevention
• Strong observation and patient monitoring skills
• Ability to recognize and communicate changes in patient condition or functional status
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a mobile patient caseload while coordinating with the supervising Physical Therapist
• Punctual, dependable, organized, and professional
• Comfortable providing care in patients' homes
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to travel throughout the service area
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per policy
• Previous home health, mobile therapy or related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Travel to patients' homes to provide physical therapy treatment under supervision
• Review plan of care and goals before treatment
• Provide skilled PT interventions per plan of care
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and safety
• Monitor patient response and progress
• Document daily treatment visits and clinical notes
• Maintain compliance with regulations and policies
• Communicate changes in patient condition to supervising PT
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals as appropriate
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional boundaries
