Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a skilled phlebotomy technician to join the Referral Lab. You will perform specimen collection, accessioning and testing prep, ensuring accurate handling and timely dispatch to external labs.

Responsibilities include monitoring drug tests, reviewing reports, and collaborating with a client-services team to maintain high-quality service across our Orange and Irvine campuses.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I).
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain pace with workload.
• Ability to collaborate across health-system teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and accessioning in the Referral Lab.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection; monitors drug tests.
• Reviews lab reports and conducts quality reviews and troubleshooting.
• Prepares specimens for testing and dispatch to outside labs per protocols.
