Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit at UNC Chatham Hospital. This full-time role supports patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and documentation while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering calls, collecting payments, and assisting in patient transfers and post-procedure instructions. CPR certification is required prior to hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification required prior to hire for mobile radiology positions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and register them in the system, in person and by phone.
• Answer calls professionally and manage scheduling and reminders.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Collect patient information and, if applicable, collect time-of-service payments.
• Prepare and maintain patient records and assist with documentation delivery.
