Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our mobile imaging unit serving the Lexington area. This full-time role involves greeting patients, registering them in systems, and guiding them through the visit while ensuring accurate records and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating with clinical staff, verifying insurance, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced mobile setting. CPR certification and ability to travel between sites are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations and travel as needed.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems accurately and timely.
• Answer calls professionally and courteously.
• Collect time-of-service payments when applicable.
• Verify insurance and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Prepare and maintain patient records in HIPAA-compliant manner.
