Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for mobile radiology/oncology units around Seattle. This PRN role encompasses patient greeting, registration, insurance verification, and documentation across multiple sites to ensure a smooth patient journey.

Responsibilities include assisting patients, coordinating appointments, and maintaining accurate records in HIPAA-compliant systems while delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for mobile roles.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations; local travel may be required.
• Strong customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Performs patient registration in various systems.
• Answers phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• Collects monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• Verifies insurance and obtains prior authorization as needed.
• Screens patients prior to procedures and may transport to/from exam rooms.
• Maintains a clean and organized mobile unit work area and stocks supplies.
• Prepares medical records for physicians, patients and customers and documents visits accurately.
• Complies with HIPAA regulations and supports clinical staff with documentation.
