Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our Northeast facility. This PRN position focuses on delivering exceptional patient experiences through accurate registration, clear communication, and coordination across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting with registrations, answering calls, verifying insurance, and supporting clinical staff with documentation while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required prior to hire for mobile radiology; CPR certification is a plus for fixed radiology.
• Valid state driver?s license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Process patient registration in various systems.
• Answer all calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• May verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
