Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator to manage front‑line customer service and patient care tasks, ensuring a positive experience. You will maintain accurate documentation, prepare records, and clearly explain appointment expectations to patients.

Responsibilities include registration in multiple systems, insurance verification, and post‑procedure instructions, with duties across mobile and fixed imaging sites while upholding HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and maintain accurate records.

Responsabilités

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answer all phone calls professionally and courteously.
• Collect patient payments for time‑of‑service responsibilities.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization as needed.
• Perform preliminary patient screening, including medical history, prior to procedures.
• Transport patients to and from the exam room and assist with transfers.
• Provide preliminary and post‑procedure instructions.
• Prepare medical records for physicians, patients, and customers.
• Schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification/authorization.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations in all duties.
