Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our mobile units around the Seattle area. This PRN role requires providing top-notch patient service, assisting with registration, insurance verification, and documenting patient interactions in HIPAA-compliant systems.

The position supports multiple sites, requires strong customer service and multi-tasking, and may involve local travel. CPR certification is required prior to hire, with preferred Spanish language skills to assist a diverse patient base.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required before hire for Mobile Radiology/Oncology.
• Valid state driver’s license in applicable locations.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers, and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer phone calls professionally and courteousy.
• Collect patient payments when applicable.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• May transport patients to/from exam rooms and assist with transfers.
