Responsibilities

Diagnose, inspect, and repair medium-duty trucks (Class 3-6) including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, and after-treatment systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on-site at the yard.
Service and replace tires, hubs, brakes, and lift-gates.
Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for all in-yard work.
Inspect straight trucks to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
Manage shop/service inventory and source parts from local vendors.
Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.

Job description

Diagnose, inspect, and repair medium-duty (Class 3-6) straight trucks and box trucks, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, and after-treatment systems
Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on-site at the yard
Service and replace tires, hubs, brakes, and lift-gates
Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for all in-yard work
Inspect straight trucks to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements

Requirements

3+ years of experience repairing medium-duty trucks (Isuzu, Hino, or similar)
Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections
Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Comfortable working with computers for billing and work orders
Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs
Confident explaining a diagnosis and helping determine next steps on repairs
Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills
Experience with medium-duty diesel or gas engines
Your own tools
Certifications are a plus | EPA 608/609/Universal & ASE
