Job summary

Jobtailor in California seeks a skilled automotive service technician to provide on-site service and customer support during visits, diagnose and repair vehicles, and perform inspections using established procedures.

You will work with management to resolve technical issues, evaluate products for maintenance and upgrades, and train customers on product usage. Must have four years of experience, ASE certification, CDL, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in one or more designations: Automobile (A 1-9), Medium/Heavy Truck (T 1-8), School Bus (S 1-7), or Transit Bus (H 1-8)
• Minimum four years’ experience in a light or medium duty automotive service facility
• Personal tools required
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsement
• Ability to pass ASE certification test
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Job description

• Provide service and customer support during on-site visits
• Diagnose, test, and repair vehicles using computerized diagnostic equipment
• Perform inspections and repairs using established procedures
• Perform light and medium duty repairs on heating and air conditioning, electrical and electronic systems, brakes, manual drivetrain, axles, suspension, steering, transmissions, transaxles, and engines
• Perform light-duty engine performance repairs and diesel engine repairs
• Prepare and submit work orders promptly
• Evaluate products for maintenance, warranty, upgrades, and other purposes
• Collaborate with management to resolve technical issues
• Recommend appropriate products or services based on customer requirements
• Manage on-site installations, repairs, and maintenance within the assigned territory
• Conduct customer training on product usage and maintenance
• Analyze, evaluate, and diagnose technical problems
• Respond to customer complaints promptly and effectively
• Achieve and maintain an efficiency level of 85% or greater
• Safely operate shop equipment
• Maintain and protect company property
• Follow company safety protocols and keep the work area clean
• Submit complete and accurate weekly timesheets to payroll
• Perform other duties as assigned
